Last Sept. 6th was the Gawad Kalinga walk. A dozen or so of my co-workers signed up and paid the $15 registration fee. Not before I hounded them with litanies about how important this project is for the poor back home. Some of them haven’t been to the Philippines so you could imagine how hard it is for them to relate. But the good thing is they were kind enough to just pay the fee so they won’t hear from me again…hehehe…until the next time I ask for donations..JPG)

The walk was a good one...short but with a mission. Mi familia and I arrived early as I anticipated a sweltering summer heat that day. The walk was done in batches because not all arrived on time…you know...the “usual” Filipino time..JPG)
The coordinator called me days after to thank me again for helping them soliciting “walkers” and for that route map. It was quite a good turn-out so I was told..JPG)
