1974

Why didn't we have a more elaborate graduation than what is shown in the pic is beyond me.
In fact, I don't even consider this "graduation ceremony" at all. I don't really have any memory of it until Eva sent me this picture of her receiving the diploma.
I still can't figure out why.
What was so bad about 1974 that a simple, traditional graduation rites didn't happen?
More so, I have not seen us in any Grade 6 group picture. Is there one exists?
Pic below is the Grade 4 class under Mrs. Paguio. Same old fart faces....hehehe...

There was a parent/teacher meeting back then with Ms. Mano, the Principal presiding. It was decided not to have a formal graduation. As to who suggested it was beyond me also. Whoever that person was had deprived our batch of something so precious to remember. Mrs Arellano(on leave) was not there to support us. Only a handful of 6-A students (us)protested but was not enough to undo what was decided by the grown-ups.
I'm one of those who got a picture of that day. Mine is with Ms. Mano handing me a bank book from Pulilan Savings Bank for P45 (wow!).
i went home crying to my father on that day it was decided there would be no graduation. i had a picture though but i still have to look for it among my old things left in pulilan. i hope it's still there.
Ha!Ha! sorry guys, napaalala pa ang nangyari nuon. Actually, ang message ko dyan e "see I look like my Ysabelle and Arlene look like her anak also" na hindi nailagay ng webmaster.
At siempre mas magastos. So ang ginawa ko na lang ay nakinood na lang ako sa graduation ng brother ko which is my graduation din supposed to be. Pareho narin ang epek nun di ba? At least andun ako sa graduation ceremony pero as an spectator nga lang. Pero I have no regrets naman. Syanga pala bigla kong naalala kaya pala andun ako kasi gusto ko din makitang nag graduate yung 'special' girl ko that time, hahahaha (ooops atin atin lang to ha!).
I vaguely remember my grade 6 graduation. I know I graduated from FEU. It was nothing extravagant. The girls wore white dresses. The boys I can't even remember. I believe any design is acceptable. Believe ako to those who could remember the details.
Regards to all,
Digna
oohhh..that was Arlene? hmmm...sorry, didn't recognize her. :-)
FYI
IT WAS UPON THE ORDER OF THEN REGIME THRU MINISTRY OF EDUC THAT NO EXTRAVAGANT CEREMONIES WILL BE HELD DURING THOSE TIMES, MARTIAL LAW NA NUN, THAT MEETING WAS JUST FOR INFORMING THE PARENTS OF THAT MARCHING ORDER.
